Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS), 9-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they host Pisgah for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. Pontotoc will battle a Dragons squad coming off a 11-1 non-league win over Vicksburg (Vicksburg, MS). The Dragons record now stands at 13-3.

With the loss, Tupelo falls to 2-16 on the campaign. The Golden wave host Starkville (Starkville, MS) to battle the Yellowjackets in a 6A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. Starkville lost 17-10 in their recent league challenge against Grenada (Grenada, MS)
