South-Doyle Cherokees (Knoxville, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Seymour Eagles (Seymour, TN), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cherokees now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Cosby for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4. South-Doyle will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 10-6 non-league win over Hampton (Hampton, TN). The Eagles record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Seymour falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Eagles host William Blount (Maryville, TN) to battle the Governors in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4.
