In Saturday's league game, the visiting Covington Lions baseball team scored a tight 7-6 victory over the Hammond Tornadoes.
The Lions (12-2) will now prepare for their game against Slidell (Slidell, LA). The Tigers go into the 5A District 6 game with a 9-17 record. In their last game, Slidell was edged by Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA), 9-5, in a league game.
The Tornadoes (16-6) will now prepare for their game against Northshore (Slidell, LA). The Panthers go into the 5A District 6 game with a 11-13 record. In their last game, Northshore was edged by St. Paul's (Covington, LA), 3-1, in a league game.
