Brooks Lions (Killen, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Huntsville Panthers (Huntsville, AL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 17-9 record. They take the field next when they host Central for a 4A Area 16 challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Brooks will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 5-3 non-league loss to Belgreen (Russellville, AL). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Huntsville moves to 5-10 on the season. The Panthers host Grissom (Huntsville, AL) to face the Tigers in a 7A Area 7 match on Tuesday, April 4. The Tigers go into the match with a record of 6-16. Grissom lost 8-3 in their recent non-league match against Skyline (Scottsboro, AL)
