Heritage Hills Patriots (Lincoln City, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats (Evansville, IN), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jasper for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Heritage Hills will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 9-5 non-league loss to Pike Central (Petersburg, IN). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Evansville Mater Dei falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN) to face the Titans in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 3. The Titans enter the challenge with a record of 7-1. Gibson Southern won 9-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Fishers (Fishers, IN)
