In Saturday's non-league contest, the Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) softball team overwhelmed the host Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), by a margin of 21-5.
With the triumph, Shiprock moves its record to 4-6 on the year. The Chieftains travel to Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM) to play the Broncos in a 4A District 1 contest on Tuesday, April 4. The Broncos come into the contest with a record of 4-6. Kirtland Central won 14-4 in their recent non-league contest against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)
In their next game, the Skyhawks play the Rehoboth Christian Lynx (Rehoboth, NM) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, April 5. Newcomb will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record.
