Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), 10-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs confront the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Tuesday, April 2. Staunton will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record. The Piasa Birds enter the challenge with a 1-6 record after their 9-0 non-league loss to Jersey (Jerseyville, IL).

The Knights now have a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they host Father McGivney Catholic for a Gateway Metro challenge on Thursday, April 4. Metro-East Lutheran will confront a Griffins team coming off a 1-0 league win over Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL). The Griffins record now stands at 6-2.
