Hatley Tigers (Amory, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Starkville Yellowjackets (Starkville, MS), 15-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 14-4 record. They take the field next when they host Smithville for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Hatley will battle a Seminoles squad coming off a 11-3 league win over Vardaman (Vardaman, MS). The Seminoles record now stands at 12-8.

With the loss, Starkville falls to 4-15 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Madison Central (Madison, MS) to battle the Jaguars in a 7A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 7-10. Madison Central lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Brandon (Brandon, MS)
