Lawson Lightning (Nashville, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host McGavock Raiders (Nashville, TN), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Lightning now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Maplewood for a 3A District 10 challenge on Tuesday, April 2.

With the loss, McGavock falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Raiders host Hunters Lane (Nashville, TN) to battle the Warriors in a 4A District 11 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
