The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Pine Bush Bushmen (Pine Bush, NY) and the host New Paltz Huguenots (New Paltz, NY), saw Pine Bush's softball squad nip New Paltz by a count of 2-1.

The Bushmen now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Goshen Central for a Orange County Division II match on Friday, April 5.

With the loss, New Paltz falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Huguenots travel to Marlboro Central (Marlboro, NY) to face the Dukes in a Mid Hudson Athletic match on Thursday, April 4. The Dukes enter the match with a record of 1-0. Marlboro Central won 5-0 in their recent non-league match against Warwick (Warwick, NY)
