The Van Alstyne Panthers overwhelmed the host Rockwall-Heath Hawks softball squad by a count of 7-1 in Tuesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Panthers meet the Gainesville Leopards (Gainesville, TX) in a 4A Region II District 9 challenge, on Friday, April 4. Van Alstyne will attempt to upgrade on its 14-5 season record. The Leopards go into the challenge with a 4-14 record after their 18-0 league loss to Celina (Celina, TX).

The Hawks (8-14) will now prepare for their challenge against North Forney (Forney, TX). The Falcons go into the 6A Region II District 10 challenge with a 11-15 record. In their last challenge, North Forney held off Tyler Legacy (Tyler, TX), 15-4, in a league challenge.
