Ishpeming Hematites (Ishpeming, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Sunday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Newberry Indians (Newberry, MI), 15-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Hematites now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Norway for a non-league challenge on Sunday, April 10.
With the loss, Newberry falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Indians host Big Bay de Noc (Cooks, MI) to battle the Black Bears in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 25. The Black Bears enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
