In Monday's non-league game, the host South Central Falcons baseball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the Cape Fear Colts.
The Falcons (10-6) will now prepare for their game against Northside - Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC). The Monarchs go into the Big East 3A/4A game with a 2-9 record. In their last game, Northside - Jacksonville was edged by South Central (Winterville, NC), 18-1, in a league game.
The Colts (8-9) will now prepare for their game against Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC). The Eagles go into the United Eight 3A/4A game with a 2-13 record. In their last game, Douglas Byrd was edged by South View (Hope Mills, NC), 14-3, in a league game.
