Altamont Indians (Altamont, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles (St. Elmo, IL), 12-5 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ramsey for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. Altamont will face a Rams squad coming off a 15-2 non-league loss to Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL). The Rams record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Brownstown/St. Elmo falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Farina South Central (Farina, IL) to face the Cougars in a National Trail challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 9-3. Farina South Central won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Webber (Bluford, IL)
