Bishop Ryan Lions (Minot, ND) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad smash the host Varsity Opponent (, ), 50-5 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ray for a Class B - West Region 4 challenge on Friday, April 14.

With the loss, Varsity Opponent falls to 7-29 on the campaign. The travel to Needles (Needles, CA) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 15-4. Needles won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Lincoln County (Panaca, NV)
