Sunset Apollos (Portland, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tigard Tigers (Tigard, OR), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Apollos now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mountainside for a 6A Metro challenge on Friday, April 14. Sunset will battle a Mavericks squad coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Glencoe (Hillsboro, OR). The Mavericks record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Tigard falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Oregon City (Oregon City, OR) to battle the Pioneers in a 6A Three Rivers challenge on Wednesday, April 12. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Oregon City won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Wilsonville (Wilsonville, OR)
