Allentown Redbirds (Allentown, NJ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Matawan Regional Huskies (Aberdeen, NJ), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Redbirds now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host West Windsor-Plainsboro North for a non-league test on Thursday, April 11. Allentown will clash with a Knights team coming off a 6-4 non-league win over Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NJ). The Knights record now stands at 1-1.

The Huskies (2-1) will now prepare for their test against Manasquan (Manasquan, NJ). The Warriors come into the Shore - B North test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, Manasquan edged Ocean Township (Oakhurst, NJ), 5-2, in a league test.
