In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) softball team the visiting Higley Knights (Gilbert, AZ), by a margin of 2-0.

With the triumph, Chaparral moves its record to 17-6 on the year. The Firebirds host Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, AZ) to play the Pride in a non-league contest on Thursday, April 11. The Pride come into the contest with a record of 8-9. Mountain Pointe lost 9-3 in their recent league contest against Casa Grande (Casa Grande, AZ)

In their next game, the Knights play the Casa Grande Cougars (Casa Grande, AZ) in a 5A San Tan contest, on Friday, April 12. Higley will attempt to move on its 15-6 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 13-12 record after their 4-3 non-league win over Fairfax (Laveen, AZ).
