Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad tip the visiting Mission Viejo Diablos (Mission Viejo, CA), 2-0 in a non-league match.

The Monarchs now sport a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to Rosary Academy for a Trinity match on Friday, April 12. Mater Dei will face a Royals squad coming off a 3-0 league win over JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, CA). The Royals record now stands at 14-5.

With the loss, Mission Viejo moves to 15-5 on the season. The Diablos travel to Dana Hills (Dana Point, CA) to face the Dolphins in a South Coast match on Thursday, April 11. The Dolphins go into the match with a record of 8-9. Dana Hills lost 6-0 in their recent league match against Aliso Niguel (Aliso Viejo, CA)
