St. Xavier Bombers (Cincinnati, OH) boosters exited the stadium in high spirits Thursday as they saw their baseball team gain a win over the visiting Fairmont Firebirds (Kettering, OH), 8-1 in a non-league battle.

The Bombers (1-3) will now prepare for their battle against La Salle (Cincinnati, OH). The Lancers enter the Greater Catholic - South battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, La Salle held off Fairfield (Fairfield, OH), 6-5, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Firebirds face the Springboro Panthers (Springboro, OH) in a Greater Western Ohio battle, on Monday, April 14. Fairmont will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Panthers enter the battle with a 5-3 record after their 7-6 non-league loss to Butler (Vandalia, OH).
