In Thursday's non-league match, the host Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers softball team scored a tight 5-2 victory over the Plainfield East Bengals.
The Hilltoppers (5-4) will now prepare for their match against Bolingbrook (Bolingbrook, IL). The Raiders go into the non-league match with a 2-5 record. In their last match, Bolingbrook was routed by Downers Grove South (Downers Grove, IL), 10-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Bengals battle the Naperville Central Redhawks (Naperville, IL) in a non-league match, on Saturday, April 12. Plainfield East will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Redhawks go into the match with a 2-3 record after their 7-3 league loss to Neuqua Valley (Naperville, IL).
