Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Comets confront the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Tuesday, April 12. Greenville will attempt to better on its 10-4 season record. The Piasa Birds enter the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 4-0 non-league win over Lutheran (Springfield, IL).

The Panthers now have a 2-9 record. They take the field next when they host Triad for a Mississippi Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 19.
