The Geneva Panthers (Geneva, AL) softball nipped the visiting Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL), 2-1 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Panthers (14-7) will now prepare for their bout against Carroll (Ozark, AL). The Eagles go into the non-league bout with a 3-14 record. In their last bout, Carroll held off Abbeville (Abbeville, AL), 25-4, in a non-league bout.
The Purple Cats now possess a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to Pike Road for a non-league bout on Wednesday, April 13. Ariton will confront a Patriots squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Houston Academy (Dothan, AL). The Patriots record now stands at 8-21.
