Illinois High School Softball - Cumberland bounces Blue Ridge

The crowd at Monday's league match between the Cumberland Pirates (Toledo, IL) and the visiting Blue Ridge Knights (Farmer City, IL), saw Cumberland's softball squad nip Blue Ridge by a count of 9-3.

The Pirates now sport a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Neoga for a non-league match on Thursday, April 14. Cumberland will face a Indians squad coming off a 13-1 non-league loss to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond (Arthur, IL). The Indians record now stands at 1-6.

With the loss, Blue Ridge falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Rantoul (Rantoul, IL) to face the Eagles in a non-league match on Tuesday, April 12. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 2-7. Rantoul lost 16-1 in their recent league match against Pontiac (Pontiac, IL)
