Cape Elizabeth Capers (Cape Elizabeth, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Scarborough Red Storm (Scarborough, ME), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Capers now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gorham for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 19.
With the loss, Scarborough falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Red storm host Windham (Windham, ME) to battle the Eagles in a Class A South challenge on Friday, April 22. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
