Joliet West Tigers (Joliet, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Plainfield Central for a Suburban Prairie - South challenge on Tuesday, April 12. Joliet West will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 12-4 non-league loss to Sandburg (Orland Park, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Leyden falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Hersey (Arlington Heights, IL) to battle the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Hersey lost 14-0 in their recent league challenge against Barrington (Barrington, IL)
