In Tuesday's non-league contest, the East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) softball team held off the visiting Albany Hornets (Albany, LA), by a margin of 9-8.
With the triumph, East Ascension moves its record to 16-15 on the year.
In their next game, the Hornets play the Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, April 12. Albany will attempt to move on its 20-2 season record. The Green Wave come into the contest with a 21-12 record after their 13-3 non-league loss to Doyle (Livingston, LA).
