St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hibriten for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. St. Stephens will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 17-7 league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Burns falls to 11-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 11-5. West Caldwell lost 8-1 in their recent league challenge against Maiden (Maiden, NC)
