Lincoln-Way Central Knights (New Lenox, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lincoln-Way East Griffins (Frankfort, IL), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Knights now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Plainfield North for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12. Lincoln-Way Central will face a Tigers squad coming off a 4-0 league loss to Yorkville (Yorkville, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Lincoln-Way East falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Griffins travel to St. Charles North (St. Charles, IL) to meet the North Stars in a non-league battle on Wednesday, April 12. The North Stars go into the battle with a record of 4-1. St. Charles North won 13-1 in their recent non-league battle against Cary-Grove (Cary, IL)
