West Virginia High School Baseball - Independence edges Sissonville

The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) and the visiting Sissonville Indians (Charleston, WV), observed Independence's baseball squad overcome Sissonville by a final score of 8-6.

With the triumph, Independence moves its record to 3-5 on the season. The Patriots travel to Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV) to confront the Spartans in a non-league contest on Saturday, April 12. The Spartans come into the contest with a record of 8-4. Greenbrier East won 10-0 in their recent non-league contest against Summers County (Hinton, WV)

Next, the Indians face the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) in a non-league battle, on Monday, April 14. Sissonville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Generals enter the battle with a 11-3 record after their 11-7 non-league loss to Huntington (Huntington, WV).
