The South Umpqua Lancers triumphed over the host North Bend Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 13-1 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Lancers play the Siuslaw Vikings (Florence, OR) in a 3A Far West challenge, on Tuesday, April 15. South Umpqua will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Vikings enter the challenge with a 1-7 record after their 8-6 non-league loss to Elmira (Elmira, OR).
The Bulldogs (2-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Cottage Grove (Cottage Grove, OR). The Lions enter the 4A Sky Em challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, Cottage Grove was routed by Sweet Home (Sweet Home, OR), 4-2, in a non-league challenge.
