Big Rapids Cardinals (Big Rapids, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Evart Wildcats (Evart, MI), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Whitehall for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 14.

With the loss, Evart falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Clare (Clare, MI) to battle the Pioneers in a Jack Pine challenge on Monday, April 18. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Clare won 12-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Reed City (Reed City, MI)
