With the win, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 15-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to battle the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, April 18. The Pioneers come into the test with a record of 13-4. Watauga won 8-3 in their recent league test against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)

With the defeat, Newton-Conover falls to 6-10 on the season. The Red devils host West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC) to battle the Rebels in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A test on Tuesday, April 18. The Rebels come into the test with a record of 9-9. West Lincoln lost 4-3 in their recent non-league test against Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC)
