Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Apex Cougars (Apex, NC), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Colts now own a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they host Laney for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 13. Cape Fear will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 7-1 league win over Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, Apex falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Panther Creek (Cary, NC) to face the Catamounts in a Southwest Wake 4A challenge on Friday, April 14. The Catamounts enter the challenge with a record of 11-2. Panther Creek won 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Holly Springs (Holly Springs, NC)
