Mount Tabor Spartans (Winston-Salem, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Atkins Camels (Winston-Salem, NC), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Forsyth for a Central Piedmont 4A challenge on Thursday, April 13. Mount Tabor will face a Eagles squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Parkland (Winston-Salem, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 11-2.

With the loss, Atkins falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Camels host Carver (Winston-Salem, NC) to face the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 13. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Carver lost 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Leadership Academy (Kernersville, NC)
