Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Las Vegas Dons (Las Vegas, NM), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 12-7 record. They take the field next when they host Hope Christian for a 4A District 6 challenge on Friday, April 14. Bernalillo will face a Huskies squad coming off a 13-10 non-league loss to Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM). The Huskies record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, West Las Vegas falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Dons travel to St. Michael's (Santa Fe, NM) to face the Horsemen in a 3A District 2 challenge on Friday, April 14. The Horsemen enter the challenge with a record of 6-11. St. Michael's lost 20-19 in their recent non-league challenge against Laguna Acoma (New Laguna, NM)
