Indiana High School Softball - Mishawaka Marian gets by Bremen

The Mishawaka Marian Knights nipped the visiting Bremen Lions softball squad by a final score of 6-5 in Wednesday's league battle.
The Knights (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against South Bend St. Joseph (South Bend, IN). The Indians go into the Northern Indiana battle with a 5-0 record. In their last battle, South Bend St. Joseph held off Northridge (Middlebury, IN), 18-1, in a non-league battle.
The Lions now possess a 1-4 record. They play next when they host NorthWood for a non-league battle on Friday, April 14. Bremen will confront a Panthers squad coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to South Bend Riley (South Bend, IN). The Panthers record now stands at 1-3.
Game Summary
The Marian Knights saved three of their team's 8 hits for the bottom of the 7th that resulted in a walk off hit by Didion scoring the winning run after a Dubree hit that tied the game in the bottom of the 7th.
The Lady Lions got on the board first on a full count lead off Home Run by Mickie Shively. The Lions fell behind 4-1 in the 3rd after a pair of walks, an error & three Knight hits. The Lions scored one in the 3rd, then 2 in the 5th to tie the game. The Lions then scored the lead run in the top of the 7th before the Marian comeback.
Shively lead the Lion attack with a walk, a pair of doubles, and the lead off dinger scoring three runs for the Lions. Delainey Neher, Chrissy Grabowski, and Peyton Mason added singles for the Lions.
