Mt. Vernon Wildcats (Mt. Vernon, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Evansville Harrison Warriors (Evansville, IN), 13-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Forest Park for a Pocket challenge on Saturday, April 15. Mt. Vernon will battle a Rangers squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN). The Rangers record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Evansville Harrison falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Warriors host Fort Wayne North Side (Fort Wayne, IN) to battle the Legends in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 14. The Legends enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Fort Wayne North Side lost 26-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Southern Wells (Poneto, IN)
