Maroa-Forsyth Trojans (Maroa, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly for a Sangamo challenge on Thursday, April 13. Maroa-Forsyth will face a Vipers squad coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to Tri-City/Sangamon Valley (Niantic, IL). The Vipers record now stands at 0-6.

With the loss, Rantoul falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Prairie Central (Fairbury, IL) to face the Hawks in a Illini Prairie challenge on Thursday, April 13. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 3-5. Prairie Central lost 16-4 in their recent league challenge against Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL)
