Benton Panthers (Benton, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Greenwood Bulldogs (Greenwood, AR), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they host Valley View for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. Benton will face a Blazers squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Harding Academy (Searcy, AR). The Blazers record now stands at 13-5.

With the loss, Greenwood falls to 16-3 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Mountain Home (Mountain Home, AR) to face the Bombers in a 5A West challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Bombers enter the challenge with a record of 9-7.
