Quincy Blue Devils (Quincy, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pittsfield Saukees (Pittsfield, IL), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they host Seymour for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 15. Quincy will face a Indians squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL). The Indians record now stands at 9-9.

With the loss, Pittsfield falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Saukees travel to Alton (Alton, IL) to face the Redbirds in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. The Redbirds enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Alton lost 13-3 in their recent league challenge against Belleville West (Belleville, IL)
