Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO) boosters exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the visiting Rifle Bears (Rifle, CO), 1-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Montezuma-Cortez moves its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Alamosa (Alamosa, CO) to clash with the Mean Moose in a 3A Intermountain test on Friday, April 18. The Mean Moose come into the test with a record of 6-0.

The Bears now sport a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Aspen for a 3A/2A Western Slope test on Tuesday, April 15. Rifle will clash with a Skiers team coming off a 0-0 league Basalt (Basalt, CO). The Skiers record now stands at 4-3.
