Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds (Newport, KY) followers left the game satisfied Saturday as they observed their baseball squad nip the visiting Bishop Brossart Mustangs (Alexandria, KY), 8-7 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Newport Central Catholic moves its record to 4-8 on the season. The Thoroughbreds host Highlands (Fort Thomas, KY) to confront the Bluebirds in a non-league match on Wednesday, April 16. The Bluebirds come into the match with a record of 3-2. Highlands won 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Simon Kenton (Independence, KY)

With the defeat, Bishop Brossart drops to 2-5 on the year. The Mustangs host Beechwood (Fort Mitchell, KY) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 16. The Tigers go into the challenge with a record of 3-3.
