The Edwards County Lions softball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes to 1 in the Lions non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Edwards County improves its record to 9-1 on the year. The Lions travel to Elverado (Elkville, IL) to play the Falcons in a non-league game on Saturday, April 12. The Falcons enter the game with a record of 6-1. Elverado won 15-0 in their recent non-league game against Webber (Bluford, IL)

The Tornadoes now hold a 6-8 record. They play next when they host Waltonville for a non-league game on Monday, April 14. Zeigler-Royalton will play a Spartans squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Salem (Salem, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 6-5.
