The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Melba Mustangs (Melba, ID) and the host Payette Pirates (Payette, ID), observed Melba's softball team get by Payette by a tally of 18-14.

The Mustangs (4-7) will now prepare for their bout against Nampa Christian (Nampa, ID). The Trojans go into the 3A Western Idaho bout with a 10-1 record. In their last bout, Nampa Christian tipped West Side (Dayton, ID), 16-6, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Pirates clash with the Cole Valley Christian Chargers (Meridian, ID) in a 4A Snake River Valley bout, on Monday, April 14. Payette will attempt to advance on its 4-9 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 13-3 record after their 21-1 league win over McCall-Donnelly (McCall, ID).
