The Newton Local Indians triumphed over the host Riverside Pirates softball squad by a count of 16-7 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Indians play the Indian Lake Lakers (Lewistown, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, April 12. Newton Local will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Lakers enter the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 13-0 non-league loss to Kenton Ridge (Springfield, OH).

The Pirates (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Tri-Village (New Madison, OH). The Patriots enter the non-league challenge with a 7-0 record. In their last challenge, Tri-Village overcame Newton Local (Pleasant Hill, OH), 15-3, in a league challenge.
