Arkansas High School Baseball - Newport defeats Riverview

April 13, 2021: Newport, AR 72112

Spectators at Tuesday's league battle between the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) and the visiting Riverview Raiders (Searcy, AR), saw Newport's baseball squad knock off Riverview by a count of 13-7.

Coming up next, the Greyhounds play the Rose Bud Ramblers (Rose Bud, AR) in a 3A Region 1 East battle, on Friday, April 16. Newport will attempt to move on its 3-8 season record. The Ramblers enter the battle with a 2-4 record after their 9-1 non-league loss to West Side (Greers Ferry, AR).

The Raiders now possess a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Harding Academy for a 3A Region 2 battle on Friday, April 16. Riverview will play a Wildcats squad coming off a 18-3 non-league win over Harmony Grove (Benton, AR). The Wildcats record now stands at 11-5.
