Clairemont Chieftains (San Diego, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Grossmont Foothillers (El Cajon, CA), 13-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Chieftains now sport a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they host Point Loma for a challenge on Friday, April 15. Clairemont will face a Pointers squad coming off a 15-11 non-league loss to Auburn Riverside (Auburn, WA). The Pointers record now stands at 3-14.

With the loss, Grossmont drops to 0-3 on the year. The Foothillers host El Capitan (Lakeside, CA) to face the Vaqueros in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Vaqueros enter the challenge with a record of 7-7. El Capitan won 4-0 in their recent non-league challenge against West Hills (Santee, CA)
