Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Clinton Dark Horses (Clinton, NC) and the visiting Goldsboro Cougars (Goldsboro, NC), witnessed Clinton's softball squad tip Goldsboro by a count of 7-1.

The Dark Horses now sport a 12-5 record. They play next when they host West Bladen for a Southeastern Athletic 2A match on Tuesday, April 26. Clinton will meet a Knights squad coming off a 10-5 league loss to Midway (Dunn, NC). The Knights record now stands at 8-11.

With the loss, Goldsboro moves to 1-10 on the season. The Cougars travel to North Duplin (Calypso, NC) to meet the Rebels in a non-league match on Monday, April 18. The Rebels go into the match with a record of 6-4. North Duplin won 25-10 in their recent league match against Lakewood (Roseboro, NC)
