Marcellus Mustangs (Marcellus, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wakefield Warriors (Arlington, VA), 1-0 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Marcellus improves its record to 1-0 on the year.

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the George C. Marshall Statesmen (Falls Church, VA) in a Liberty game, on Tuesday, April 19. Wakefield will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The Statesmen come into the game with a 6-4 record after their 16-11 league win over Herndon (Herndon, VA).
